Job Summary:

The Nursing Department Manager for the Operating Room is responsible for overseeing the delivery of nursing services and ensuring safe patient care within the assigned department. This role involves managing the delivery of nursing services to meet or exceed cost, quality, and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Departmental Leadership: Establish and maintain patient care and service standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Nursing Leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for integrated services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Staff Management: Determine appropriate staff mix, screen, hire, train, and ensure ongoing staff development to meet departmental needs.
  • Financial Management: Monitor department budgets, identify strategies to reduce costs, and improve quality of care.
  • Patient Care: Ensure safe patient care within the assigned department, adhering to standards and guidelines.
  • Human Resources: Manage and resolve human resource and risk management issues.
  • Organizational Culture: Promote an organizational culture of safety, ensuring adherence to standards and guidelines.
  • Leadership Commitments: Participate in leadership committees and forums at Medical Center, Regional, and/or National levels.
Requirements:
  • Education: California RN license, American Heart Association BLS, BSN or MSN.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of full-time equivalent OR RN experience in an acute care setting, and minimum of 3 years of full-time equivalent OR Manager or Supervisor experience in Periop, preferably in the main Operating Room.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive Compensation: $148,800 – $197,340/yr.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Excellent comprehensive benefits, including a sign-on bonus of 10% of the annual salary.
