Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer II will be responsible for planning, coordinating, reviewing, and enhancing manufacturing processes within a designated production area to ensure efficient operations. This role requires applying technical expertise in manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Assess and refine manufacturing processes, including runtime evaluations and bill-of-materials, while initiating modifications to machinery for optimal production conditions.
- Analyze and develop methodologies to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and minimize costs.
- Monitor and evaluate production tools, dies, fixtures, and equipment, providing recommendations for improvements to enhance production efficiency.
- Design and specify tools, jigs, and fixtures for the manufacturing of devices and components, ensuring optimal operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Test and Quality Engineering departments to establish testing parameters and procedures.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with engineering teams and vendors to support cost-effective production operations.
- Develop comprehensive instructions and specifications for manufacturing processes, assisting in the transition from development to production.
- Provide specialized technical support to resolve design or mechanical challenges in manufacturing.
- Prepare detailed parts lists and bills of materials.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to implement innovative solutions to manufacturing challenges.
- May create programs and data packages for computer-controlled production equipment.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of various production methods and their applications.
- Materials Science: Understanding of material properties and behaviors during manufacturing.
- Quality Control: Capability to implement and oversee quality assurance processes.
- Process Improvement: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and potentially Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve production line issues.
- Communication: Proficient in conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- Teamwork: Experience in collaborating with engineers, technicians, and production personnel.
- Project Management: Skills in planning and executing manufacturing projects efficiently.
- Analytical Skills: Competence in analyzing data to inform decision-making.
- Time Management: Effective management of personal and team project timelines.
