JOB OVERVIEW
The Residential Swing Vehicle Operator is responsible for driving rearload and automated sideload trucks to various customer sites, emptying waste containers, and transporting the collected materials to designated disposal facilities. This role demands efficient and safe vehicle operation while adhering to all relevant regulations. The operator is expected to deliver professional and courteous service to all clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrive at work punctually in the company uniform and equipped with necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Empty waste carts at customer locations and transport the contents to appropriate disposal sites.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is fully fueled, safe for operation, and that all required documentation is present before departing.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and submitting the vehicle condition report (VCR).
  • Maintain safe driving practices and exhibit professionalism and courtesy at all times.
  • Availability for scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, is essential.
  • Monitor personal compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including daily hours of service, and report any potential compliance issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Notify the supervisor of any moving violations incurred during work hours at the end of the shift.
  • Report any personal moving violations or accidents to the supervisor within 72 hours.
  • Maintain a valid medical certification and driver's license.
  • Adhere to all governmental regulations related to transportation and waste management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of one year of experience driving medium or heavy trucks or equivalent specialized training.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Proficient use of electronic technology within eight weeks of hire.
  • Capability to understand and execute work orders relayed through onboard technology.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to interact with the public, comprehend traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete required documentation.
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid Class B commercial driver's license.
  • Clean driving record for the past five years.
  • Valid medical certification or the ability to obtain one.
