Bus Driver

Sealy Independent School District is seeking a qualified Bus Driver and Bus Driver Substitute to join our team.

The Bus Driver and Bus Driver Substitute will be responsible for ensuring the safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned routes. This includes operating a school bus, supervising students, and maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle.

• Operate a school bus to transport students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated locations.
• Supervise students while they board and leave the bus and cross the street.
• Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on the bus.
• Maintain discipline and report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
• Instruct students on safe riding rules and regulations.
• Inspect the bus to ensure it is in good working condition before each operation.
• Report any hazardous conditions along the route.
• Operate two-way radio equipment to communicate with the transportation office.

• High School Diploma
• Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License with P and S Endorsements (or eligible to be trained)
• Ability to pass an alcohol and drug test
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Knowledge of student discipline procedure

The Bus Driver and Bus Driver Substitute will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes. The position requires the ability to maintain emotional control and work irregular hours as needed.
