Position Overview

The CNC Laser and Press Brake Technician plays a vital role in our production process. This position involves setting up and operating various fabricating machines, including brakes, rolls, shears, saws, and presses, to accurately cut, bend, straighten, and form metal and fiberglass materials according to detailed blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine the necessary machine setup and production methods.
  • Initiate machine operations and monitor performance to adjust workpieces, change dies, or modify machine settings as required.
  • Manually or with the aid of a hoist, lift and secure workpieces on the machine table.
  • Conduct inspections of machine operations and verify that workpieces meet specifications using gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Replace worn cutting tools as needed.
  • Adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut through machine controls.
  • Support the Altec Production System (APS) and adhere to established safety, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area along with shop tools and equipment.
  • Possess basic computer skills and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Be prepared to obtain forklift certification if necessary.
