Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our team at Altec Industries, Inc. As a CNC Laser Operator, you will be responsible for fabricating, positioning, and forming structural metal/fiberglass products using advanced machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC laser machines to cut, bend, and form metal/fiberglass products according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
  • Select, position, and secure dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machines, using precision tools and gauges.
  • Start machines and observe operation to reposition work pieces, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.
  • Inspect or measure work using precision tools and gauges to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Lift and position work pieces manually or with hoists, and secure them on machine tables in drilling jigs or holding fixtures.
  • Move machine controls to feed tools into work pieces, and engage automatic feed or manually hold.
  • Observe machine operation and verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Change worn cutting tools using wrenches, and adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational training in lieu of experience may be considered.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
  • Basic computer usage knowledge required.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and read blueprints and schematics required.
  • General knowledge of mechanical or manufacturing processes desired.
