About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Store Operations Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market. This role is responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing Team Members, ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising strategies that drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the Team Leader in analyzing sales reports, identifying trends, and implementing data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
  • Maintain advanced product knowledge and stay up-to-date on new products, vendor relationships, and market trends.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders and payments.
  • Function as the point person and departmental lead in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring seamless store operations and customer service.
  • Set and achieve high standards of retail execution, fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and responding promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to create a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, consistently communicating and modeling WFM vision and goals.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 18+ months of retail experience, including 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to prioritize and delegate tasks, and excellent interpersonal, motivational, team-building, and customer relationship skills.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Excellent product knowledge and advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
