Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness. The successful candidate will provide accurate and timely financial services to senior management and reports to Financial Planning and Analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record and reconcile journal entries for 2 Holding companies and 18 subsidiaries.
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare trial balance and financial statements.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit work papers and inquiries from external auditors.
  • Prepare complex spreadsheets and analyze data to inform business decisions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage accounting for fixed assets purchases, sales, and retirements.
  • Perform other duties as may be requested by the supervisor, including best practice sharing and upholding company Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' prior work experience in accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to effect process improvements and supervise and motivate accounting staff.
  • Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent financial systems skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Experience with business intelligence software, such as AccPac.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
