Position Overview: The Maintenance Superintendent is tasked with orchestrating and supervising the activities of the maintenance team to guarantee safe and effective operations across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of maintenance, facility upkeep, and project execution within the casting plant.
- Drive maintenance operations with a focus on eliminating recurring issues through personnel development and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead and mentor direct reports, including supervisors, maintenance technicians, trainees, and interns within the designated department.
- Delegate tasks effectively within the maintenance department to optimize workflow.
- Reduce production interruptions by establishing and adhering to a comprehensive preventative maintenance and inspection schedule.
- Analyze machine breakdowns to identify root causes and recommend enhancements or new equipment to mitigate future issues.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure equipment functionality and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Innovate methods to enhance machinery and equipment efficiency, thereby lowering operational costs.
- Represent the maintenance department in cross-functional meetings.
- Foster relationships with leadership across departments to support the overall objectives of the organization.
- Collaborate with Human Resources in the recruitment process and provide input on the performance and potential release of maintenance staff.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or completion of a trade/technical program.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical skill set is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Ability to utilize structured problem-solving methodologies for effective analysis and resolution.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
