Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to student-athletes, working closely with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure the health and well-being of our athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services to student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Work closely with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement injury prevention and treatment plans.
  • Conduct regular athletic training sessions, including warm-ups, cool-downs, and strength and conditioning exercises.
  • Monitor and report on athlete injuries and illnesses, including providing updates to coaches and physicians.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including concussion protocols and return-to-play guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to student-athletes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including injury reports, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in athletic training.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Athletic Training, Physical Education, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
  • Current CPR/AED/BLS certification.
  • Experience working with collegiate or national-level athletes.
  • Experience with manual therapy, PRI, and other athletic training modalities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Less than 1 year of experience working with collegiate or national-level athletes.
  • Less than 1 year of experience with manual therapy.
  • Less than 1 year of experience with PRI.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, with a variable schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
