Job Summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to provide top-notch care to student-athletes. As an integral member of our medical team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional athletic training services, working closely with our team physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of medical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care of athletic injuries during practice, games, and scrimmages, utilizing your expertise to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Refer patients to appropriate facilities for further treatment, ensuring seamless coordination of care.
  • Document accurate records of injuries and treatment provided in a timely manner, utilizing our electronic injury tracking system.
  • Contribute to data collection and research initiatives aimed at improving clinical outcomes within our Youth Sports Medicine Program.
  • Coordinate pre-participation exams and maintain accurate lists of athletes eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations.
  • Develop and implement community education programs in sports medicine, including the development of a student athletic training program.
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies as assigned by the unit or department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year program.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer - Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC ATC).
  • CPR/AED/BLS certification.
  • Athletic training or sports medicine emphasis.
