Our client, a distinguished Non-Profit organization, is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist to join on a contract-to-hire basis. This role offers a positive work culture and a healthy work-life balance.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field

• Over 5 years of experience in budgeting and financial reporting

• Proficient in preparing financial statements, analyzing financial transactions, managing expenditure plans, and tracking costs

• Advanced skills in Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assessing budget proposals and funding applications.
  • Working closely with project leaders to formulate budgets.
  • Conducting comprehensive financial analyses, including variance assessments, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to deliver insightful evaluations of business performance.
  • Performing cost-benefit analyses to assess value.
  • Approving or denying funding applications.
  • Ensuring budget proposals adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Defending budget proposals to management.
  • Collaborating with management to finalize budget agreements.
  • Monitoring expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Estimating and forecasting future financial requirements.
  • Assisting with financial modeling, cash flow forecasts, and projections for commitment plan award payments.
  • Preparing quarterly reports and PowerPoint presentations for external stakeholders, including cash and fund balances, activity statements, financial position statements, budget versus actual performance, actual funds committed, and outstanding award obligations.
  • Generating monthly management reports on actual funds committed, fund and cash balances, and outstanding award obligations.
  • Updating multi-year cash flow projections.
  • Monitoring daily cash positions.
