Job Description

Staff Financial Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper with an Accounting degree to join our team. Our company values precision, integrity, and efficiency in managing financial records and maintaining accurate financial processes.

Position Overview:

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the company. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial records and reports, oversee accounts payable/receivable, and maintain the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Handle invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to support budget and financial planning.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts as needed.
  • Assist in preparing documents for audits and liaising with external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation for easy retrieval.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or in pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience working in a small-to-medium-sized business environment.
  • Experience with payroll processing software.
  • Familiarity with tax filings and compliance.
