Certified Teacher Position SY24/25

Casa Grande Union High School District is seeking a highly qualified Certified Teacher to join our team. As a part of our commitment to providing access and excellence, we are dedicated to ensuring that all students can achieve at the highest levels, regardless of their background.

Job Summary

The Certified Teacher will assist the Principal in providing a positive impact on student learning through enhancing student achievement. This role requires a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate in the appropriate subject area, as well as a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of individuals to ensure student achievement.
  • Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
  • Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students, including students with disabilities.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives.
  • Establish learning objectives consistent with an appraisal of student needs; requirements of the district's curriculum framework, and knowledge of student growth and development.
  • Plan for and utilize instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques that motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.
  • Provide input when necessary to students' IEPs.
  • Take all necessary and safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, CGUHSD policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  • Establish professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community that reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.
  • Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteers. May evaluate paraprofessional's job performance with department chairs and/or administrators.
  • Appraise own effectiveness and demonstrate successful application of skills and information acquired to increase effectiveness.
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence through professional development.
  • Participate in school management and share the responsibility for the total school program.
  • Attend staff meetings, PLCs, and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Coordinate textbook adoption process within department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline, and salary recommendations.
  • Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring, and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
  • Promote and encourage the development, training, and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.
