Job Summary

Industrial maintenance technicians oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns as well as any welding that may be required during the normal operations.

Provides operations and production support through electrical installation and repair.

Disassemble and discharge Lithium-Ion batteries in several formats and conditions using a variety of mechanical and automated tools.

Essential Functions

  • Operate and maintain discharging and battery disassembly equipment.
  • Operate overhead crane and lifting devices to safely move batteries.
  • Fabricates special items, as required.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical equipment and conduit.
  • Repairs processing equipment such as pumps, pipe, moving machinery and conveyors; repair steel.
  • Performs simple to intermediate equipment and pipe installations.
  • Perform electrical preventative and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation systems using schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Performs electrical installation of new plant equipment and processes, including routing of electrical cable or wire from current power sources.
  • Maintain required log sheets and tracking information.
  • Keeps work area neat, clean, and free of debris.
  • Utilize various types of electrical testing equipment.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Functions

  • Complete work assignments in accordance with relevant EH&S work instructions and job procedures.
  • Maintain familiarization with EH&S components of relevant work instructions and job procedures.
  • Report suggestions to improve EH&S components of work instructions and job procedures to management personnel.
  • Report nonconformities and non-compliance with the EH&S components of work instructions and job procedures to management personnel.
  • Maintain familiarization with the actual or potential EH&S impacts of their activities and associated legal implications.
  • Exercise of authority to address EH&S nonconformities, to include reporting nonconformities to supervision to pursue discontinuance of activities.
  • Review work practices for EH&S issues and associated impacts.
  • Attend EH&S awareness training sessions; and
  • Properly store materials that can impact the environment and dispose of oily rags, filters, aerosol cans, paint/paint related materials, and other wastes in appropriate areas and appropriately labeled containers (including hazardous waste containers).

Other Functions

  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Maintains records, tallies, and reports as required.
  • Performs computer data entry as required.

Job Requirements

The Industrial Maintenance Tech operators receive applicable mandated safety, environmental, and task training. Operators are required to utilize such training in the performance of their jobs. (It should be noted that task training is not all-inclusive of duties the Supervisor may assign to be performed.)

Education/Knowledge: High School Diploma and the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

Experience: Forklift experience preferred.

Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to learn and comprehend job performance duties and responsibilities. Must possess mechanical aptitude required to make adjustments and minor repairs to equipment and instrumentation.

Equipment Used: Forklift, Hydro Jet, CNC programming, electrical diagnostic equipment, aerial lifts, sweeper/scrubber, label printer, computer, shaker station, temperature monitoring equipment.
