Job Overview

Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to join our Part 145 Repair Station team in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for monitoring repairs and systems, providing strong engineering leadership skills, and ensuring the highest quality traditional aircraft operations, completions, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

* Identify gaps between requirements, design, manufacturing, and operations
* Assess and approve technical completion and compliance at major program and avionics technical reviews
* Provide engineering leadership and mentorship to coordinate design, analysis, and systems engineering processes throughout development, verification, delivery, and operation
* Participate with other members to assess and enforce engineering process health and compliance
* Represent the Company and project with key customers
* Provide experienced technical and programmatic leadership
* Monitor performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
* Perform other duties relative to position, as assigned by the direct supervisor

Requirements

* Proficient background in avionics, safety-critical electronic systems, and/or flight control systems
* Possess sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making
* Ability to create an environment that demonstrates teamwork and professionalism with diverse personalities and professional backgrounds
* Ability to maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with internal and external customers
* Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong initiative
* Education & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
* Physical Demands
* Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
* Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required
* Work Environment
* Temperature-controlled office
* Exposure to Indoor/Outdoor environments with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
* Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
* Moderate to loud noise level
* Status & Schedule
* Full-time
* Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
* Overtime necessary depending on workload
* No travel required
