Job Description

As a Trauma Data Registrar, you will be responsible for identifying and abstracting trauma registry data cases by referencing primary and secondary sources of information. You will enter patient data into the trauma registry according to established state and national protocols.

You will upload trauma data to National Trauma Data Base, State Data Base, and Michigan TQIP. You will complete each identified patient record in a timely manner as requested by the TPM. You will screen incoming calls and correspondence and respond independently when possible.

Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified candidate who has experience in ICD9/10 CM coding and trauma AIS/ISS coding/scoring coding or has a coding certification related to the specialty area. You should have advanced medical terminology and human anatomy and/or physiology knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Abstract trauma registry data cases by referencing primary and secondary sources of information
  • Enter patient data into the trauma registry according to established state and national protocols
  • Upload trauma data to National Trauma Data Base, State Data Base, and Michigan TQIP
  • Complete each identified patient record in a timely manner as requested by the TPM
