Job Summary

The Janitorial Training Program is a comprehensive 480-hour program designed for individuals with barriers to employment. The program focuses on skill acquisition and development through a paid internship within Goodwill Industries Janitorial Training Department. Participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleans and disinfects office areas, classrooms, hallways, lobbies, breakrooms, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other assigned work areas.
  • Performs cleaning activities in specific areas by hand, such as removing dust from furniture, blinds, windowsills, etc.
  • Sweeps and mops floors, cleans and disinfects bathrooms with cleaning products.
  • Transports trash and waste to the disposal area, replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Communicates with Goodwill management and customers as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations.
  • Recognizes the risks in activities and applies the right measures to control and manage those risks.
  • Ability to learn how to properly use janitorial tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to hard physical work.
