We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Sr. Specialist to join our team at Duracell. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process Safety Management: Develop and implement process safety management systems to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards associated with our manufacturing processes.
- Dust Hazard Analysis: Conduct thorough dust hazard analyses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Thermal Safety and Pressure Vessel Programs: Oversee the management of thermal safety and pressure vessel programs, including the identification of safety devices, setup of inspection and maintenance schedules, and coordination of third-party inspections.
- Emergency Response and Business Continuity: Develop and implement emergency response plans and business continuity strategies to ensure the safety of our employees and the continuity of our operations in the event of an emergency.
- System Ownership and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for various programs, including safety management systems, fall protection, crane/hoist/sling, confined space entry, and contractor management.
- Culture of Safety: Support the development of a culture of safety within our organization by promoting safety awareness, tracking departmental safety compliance, and managing rewards and recognition programs.
- Goal Setting and Metrics: Establish and track HSE goals and metrics, and participate in the daily direction setting of individual production teams.
- Audit and Risk Assessment: Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate significant injury or fatality (SIF) related incidents and support HSE investigations using root cause analysis tools.
- New Hire and Annual Training: Support the development and implementation of new hire and annual HSE training plans.
- Education: Degree in occupational safety or a related discipline.
- Experience: 5-7 years of safety-related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Proficient in developing and maintaining HSE policies and programs, understanding and applying NFPA/OSHA requirements, and managing multiple projects with great attention to detail.
- Certifications: Safety-related certification preferred (ASP/CSP, CIH, CHMM, CCPS, etc.).
