American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Software Validation Engineer to join its team at the ATDC facility in Detroit, Michigan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing testing activities to ensure conformance to AAM strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as project-level processes, including ISO 26262, ISO 29119, and ASPICE.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software validation, with experience working with requirements and test management tools, including IBM ETM.

They will also have a solid understanding of software verification activities, including manual and automated test execution for software qualification tests and hardware-software integration tests for embedded systems.

The Senior Software Validation Engineer will work closely with the development team to analyze and review requirements, design and implement test specifications, and test cases for software qualification tests and hardware-software integration tests.

They will also be responsible for maintaining test reports, reviewing CAN, UDS, and XCP logs, and managing software defects.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or a foreign equivalent education, and 3 years' experience working in the software validation field.

They will also have experience working with embedded testing and development tools, including NI, dSPACE, ETAS, or Vector, and a strong understanding of functional safety for embedded systems, including ISO 26262 or DO178B.

Responsibilities
  • Perform testing activities to ensure conformance to AAM strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as project-level processes.
  • Analyze and review requirements, design and implement test specifications, and test cases for software qualification tests and hardware-software integration tests.
  • Maintain test reports, review CAN, UDS, and XCP logs, and manage software defects.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure full bi-directional traceability of test cases to requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or a foreign equivalent education.
  • 3 years' experience working in the software validation field.
  • Experience working with requirements and test management tools, including IBM ETM.
  • Experience working with software verification activities, including manual and automated test execution for software qualification tests and hardware-software integration tests for embedded systems.
