Job Title: Orientation and Mobility Specialist
Job Summary:
The Educational Service Center of Central Ohio is seeking a highly skilled Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Student Support Services department, you will play a critical role in supporting visually impaired students in navigating their educational environment.
Responsibilities:
* Assess and develop individualized mobility plans for students with visual impairments
* Provide direct instruction and support to students in navigating their community and using assistive technology
* Collaborate with teachers, peers, and families to ensure seamless integration of mobility skills into daily life
* Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in orientation and mobility
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. special education, rehabilitation counseling)
* Valid licensure as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
