Mobility Specialist for Student Support Services

As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs to travel safely and independently in the learning environment. This position requires a strong understanding of evidence-based practices and the ability to work collaboratively with educational teams to promote a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide evaluations and IEP-based interventions to help students develop the skills necessary for safe and independent travel.
Work with students, teachers, and other educational staff to develop and implement individualized plans to support students' mobility needs.
Collaborate with the educational team to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the diverse needs of all students.
Requirements:
Successful completion of the national ACVREP certification exam.
Valid Orientation and Mobility Specialist certificate from the Ohio Department of Education.
Documentation of a clear criminal record and compliance with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Dual TVI/COMS certification is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively as a member of an educational team and use evidence-based practice to guide therapeutic interventions.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience and in accordance with the specified salary schedule. The Educational Service Center of Central Ohio offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
