We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Perioperative Associate to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities- Clerical Support: Provide administrative support to the perioperative team, including answering phones, taking messages, and communicating with staff and physicians.
- Scheduling: Schedule patients for surgical procedures, including endoscopy, infusions, blood transfusions, and OR cases. Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient information into our scheduling system.
- Chart Management: Assemble and maintain patient charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient information.
- Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- HIPAA Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient and employee confidentiality.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Charge Nurse and other team members to ensure efficient and effective operation of the perioperative department.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clerical experience in a hospital setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Experience with Sorian and ORSOS scheduling systems a plus.
