Job Summary

Burns White LLC's Wilkes-Barre Healthcare Litigation practice is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. As a Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys and other paralegals to manage general litigation matters, including medical malpractice and liability cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate case teams and take initiative in managing multiple matters
  • Leverage knowledge and experience to take initiative in managing electronic discovery processes and systems
  • Order and inventory medical, pathology, and radiology materials
  • Communicate with experts, clients, opposing counsel, and other contacts
  • Manage case management deadlines and schedules
  • Prepare materials for witness and expert depositions
  • Assist in the organization of exhibits and binders in preparation for trial
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files

Requirements

  • Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing electronic discovery processes and systems using document collection and production tools
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize workload with attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Quick learner who is enthusiastic about contributing to the team effort
  • Able to follow detailed instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and initiative by actively managing files, deadlines, etc.
  • Strong PC skills, especially MS Word and Excel
