Key Responsibilities

  • Administer one-time, non-treatment auditory assessments
  • Conduct thorough hearing evaluations, including air and bone conduction tests, Stenger testing, speech reception thresholds, and word recognition assessments
  • Execute and analyze middle ear assessments through tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing
  • Perform otoscopic examinations and manage cerumen removal as needed
  • Review electronic medical records, including audiogram history and military noise exposure
  • Provide expert medical opinions regarding hearing loss and tinnitus claims
  • Utilize advanced audiology equipment and sound booths available on-site
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA regulations

Qualifications

  • Education – Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD) or a Master's degree in Audiology from an accredited institution
  • Licensure – Valid registration and licensure in Audiology by the State of California
  • Experience – No prior experience required. Familiarity with C&P exams is preferred but not mandatory. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided
  • Certifications – Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA and/or board certification from the American Board of Audiology (ABA). Required: Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
