Communications Specialist for Educational Institutions

Job Description OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. The successful candidate will provide speech and language therapy services to students with diverse needs, assessing their skills, developing individualized plans, and collaborating with educators to support students' educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities, developing IEPs and therapy goals tailored to their needs.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide direct speech and language therapy services, including articulation therapy, language intervention, and communication strategies, to improve students' communication abilities and academic success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom environment and daily routines, participating in IEP meetings and providing recommendations for communication supports and modifications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of students' progress, therapy plans, and session notes, preparing reports for IEP meetings, progress reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and special education, engaging in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- A valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience in a school-based setting or working with children with diverse needs.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of speech-language pathology principles, techniques, and best practices; excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
