Executive Director of Pre-Collegiate Programs

At Another Source, we are seeking a visionary leader to drive our Pre-Collegiate Programs forward. As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing a dynamic portfolio of TRIO programs, including eight Upward Bound initiatives and two Talent Search programs. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a college-going culture within our service areas, which span across multiple counties, and directly impact the educational trajectories of over 2,000 students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a College-Going Culture: Foster a culture that encourages higher education within our service area and engage with local communities to support educational attainment.
  • Collaborative Operational Planning: Implement and maintain effective operational planning between various projects, services, and initiatives to ensure seamless coordination and execution.
  • Audit Compliance: Ensure compliance with fiscal and programmatic standards, including OMB Uniform Guidance, EDGAR, HEOA, and sponsor-specific regulations.
  • Budget Management: Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets, ensuring funds are utilized appropriately and in alignment with funding agency rules and university policies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the development and maintenance of required documentation, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and submission according to sponsor guidelines.
  • Program Evaluation: Develop and implement strategies for ongoing assessment and evaluation of program effectiveness, making necessary modifications to enhance programmatic outcomes.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise program staff and student assistants, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing necessary training and support.
  • Community and Campus Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with campus personnel, community organizations, and funding agencies, representing Another Source in a professional manner.
  • Conflict Resolution: Provide guidance and supervision for problem-solving and conflict resolution within the team and with program participants.
  • Program Representation: Act as a liaison for the programs on university and community committees, and participate in executive leadership meetings and functions.
Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of seven years in program operations, development, evaluation, and fiscal management, with at least five years of experience specifically working with TRIO programs, academic support, or similar externally funded initiatives.
  • Education: Master's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency with computer applications, including Google Suite and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Management Skills: Demonstrated expertise in management, supervision, strategic planning, project management, and program implementation, with a strong background in budget management and fiduciary responsibility.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal regulations and the federal regulatory environment related to TRIO and similar programs.
  • Cultural Competence: Proven sensitivity to the needs and characteristics of diverse target populations, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with demonstrated success in clear and effective communication.
  • Evaluation Skills: Ability to design and implement formative and summative evaluation strategies.
  • Independent and Collaborative Work: Capable of functioning independently as well as part of a collaborative team, with a track record of overcoming challenges similar to those faced by the target population served.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of federal TRIO laws, regulations, and the production of Annual Performance Reports.
