Job Overview

The 846th Test Squadron (846 TS) is seeking a highly skilled Test Project Manager to oversee the technical administration of rocket sled testing operations. This unit collaborates with the Department of Defense and various clients to design, develop, and implement high-speed rocket sled tests tailored to replicate specific segments of the flight environment, supporting the advancement of weapon systems and other aerospace hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and coordination of project costs, timelines, and technical performance throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
  • Translate and decompose customer technical requirements into a structured Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Effectively schedule project tasks and establish cost and schedule baselines.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Evaluate project progress against established baselines using Earned Value Management and other analytical techniques.
  • Provide project updates to senior stakeholders through presentations and comprehensive reports.
  • Convey technical engineering concepts to stakeholders across various disciplines, both verbally and in writing.
  • Generate and maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including contracts, test plans, safety protocols, security measures, launch directives, and mission summaries.
  • Foster collaboration and motivation among team members from diverse functional backgrounds.
  • Adapt effectively to rapidly evolving situations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Comply with relevant policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
