About the Role

The Kalera Farm Technician will play a critical role in the efficient operation of our controlled agriculture growing facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining the production and show readiness of our customer-facing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily tasks related to the production, harvesting, packing, and system cleaning of our facilities.
  • Work with the Farm Manager to ensure the day-to-day tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform growing-related activities, including seeding, transplanting, and harvesting of lettuce plants.
  • Conduct regular scouting to ensure healthy plant growth and identify any potential issues.
  • Implement system cleaning and sanitation procedures after every harvest and maintain facility cleanliness on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to all prescribed food safety policies and procedures.
  • Work independently at times and as part of a team to achieve production goals.
  • Harvest and package lettuce to meet customer demands.
  • Ensure the facility is always looking show-ready and meets the highest standards of quality.
  • Comfortable with heights and willing to learn to operate a lift to access the top levels of plants for harvest.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work a 365-day operation, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable with frequent bending, crouching, standing, and reaching.
