Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, adhering to applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Contribute to patient assessment by collecting data for analysis by an RN, ensuring accurate and comprehensive information.
- Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care, with attention to detail and patient safety.
- Document patient care given, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Coordinate patient care with RNs, physicians, and families, taking into account psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural concerns.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, promoting independence and dignity.
- Monitor and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RNs, physicians, and families.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, utilizing critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Verbal communication skills to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice.
- Cognitive ability and practical skills to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population assigned.
