Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Repair Specialist to join our team at Bridgestone Americas. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, modifying, collecting data, and making modifications to various facilities and production-related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including but not limited to, calibrating, aligning, lubricating, inspecting, ordering, researching, and troubleshooting.
  • Consistently demonstrate a solid knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques for various types of equipment, including but not limited to, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, compressed air systems, and personal computer operations.
  • Install new and modify existing systems, including assignments required by engineering, other personnel, or system demands.
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and expertise, and provide support as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 5 years of experience in a related mechanical or maintenance field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret instrumentation and piping diagrams.
  • Ability to fabricate parts from drawings or samples using various materials, and work with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and wood.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require balancing, depth perception, lifting, standing, bending, eyestrain, normal vision, stooping, carrying, feeling, pulling, talking, climbing, handling, pushing, hearing, reaching, turning, crawling, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to heat, cold, weather, dirty, greasy, dusty, low light, dark, confined spaces, heights, and hazardous materials/wastes.
Working Conditions
  • Must follow prescribed safety procedures for each work area.
Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training/associates degree.
