Registered Nurse

UPMC is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit team. As a key member of our care delivery team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch nursing care to patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Patient Care:
- Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment and formulate daily goals and care plans for patients.
- Use critical thinking to identify clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues and develop effective solutions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Negotiate and recommend changes in patient care and unit practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure comprehensive patient documentation to promote communication between caregivers.
- Incorporate evidence-based practices to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
- Create a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships.
- Relationships and Communication:
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, executives, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.

- Minimum 1 year of experience required.
- BSN preferred.

- Handle multiple and changing priorities and specialized equipment.

- Lead others in applying the nursing process.
- Mobility and visual manual dexterity.
- UPMC approved national certification preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
