Position Overview:
The Financial Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all accounting activities within the organization. This includes the preparation of monthly financial reports, compliance with regulatory requirements, and management of budgeting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the financial statement close-out process and ensure the timely issuance of reports to stakeholders.
- Manage month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy in financial statements including balance sheets and income statements.
- Collaborate with various departments to develop policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
- Address and resolve issues related to bank accounts and the general ledger, providing expert guidance on transaction treatments.
- Facilitate internal and external audit processes, preparing necessary documentation and schedules.
- Supervise the financial team, ensuring that all deadlines are met and providing training and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting courses.
- At least 8 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent military experience.
Skills Required:
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient in accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Accounting.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA are advantageous.
