We are seeking a skilled Therapist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and referring patients to more appropriate mental health providers or community resources when necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive mental status and psychosocial assessments of patients to identify treatment needs.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy, implementing goal-specific and measurable treatment plans to promote patient well-being.
- Evaluate, counsel, and refer patients to more appropriate mental health providers or community resources when indicated, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Provide crisis intervention and urgent care as needed, utilizing evidence-based practices to support patients in crisis.
- Consult regularly with psychiatrists on patient care, fostering a collaborative approach to treatment.
- Communicate effectively with Behavioral Health colleagues, Primary Care providers, and other Kaiser Permanente providers and agencies as needed, ensuring comprehensive care.
- Prepare and submit reports on mental health activities, providing valuable insights for quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in staff development meetings and quality of care activities, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Manage panel and practice management within departmental guidelines, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Clinical Professional Counselor License (Maryland) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Certified (Maryland) within 12 months of hire.
- Professional Counselor License (Virginia) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Virginia) or Social Worker License (Virginia) within 12 months of hire.
- Licensed Social Worker (District of Columbia) or Independent Clinical Social Worker License (District of Columbia) or Professional Counselor License (District of Columbia) within 12 months of hire.
- National Provider Identifier required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
- Minimum one year of experience providing individual and group therapy.
- Minimum one year of experience providing crisis intervention.
- Minimum one year of experience providing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
- Experience providing DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).
- Experience working with Eating Disorder, OCD, and/or Borderline Personality Disorder Populations.
