Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gymnastics Coach to join our team in Stafford County, VA. As a Gymnastics Coach, you will be responsible for teaching and coaching gymnastics skills and routines to developmental gymnasts, instructing skills and routines to USA Gymnastics level gymnasts, and developing routines on all gymnastics apparatus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructing and coaching gymnastics skills and routines for developmental gymnasts
  • Instructing skills and routines to USA Gymnastics level gymnasts
  • Trains gymnasts in strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, and coordination
  • Develops routines on all gymnastics apparatus
  • Instructs all levels of recreational fee classes as needed
  • Supervises assigned area of facility
  • Interprets program curriculum orally and visually to students and parents
  • Ensures that safety precautions are observed in all activities
  • Reports to head coach or Gymnastics Coordinator orally and in writing on activities, groups, or individuals, plans, or problems
  • Carefully plans combinations and routines for USA Gymnastics competitive levels
  • Instructs in correct spotting
Requirements
  • General knowledge of USA Gymnastics rules and policies, compulsories, and code of points
  • General knowledge of child behavior and coaching techniques
  • Ability to teach USA Gymnastics level 1 through 4 skills and routines for bars, beam, and floor
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience in competitive gymnastics in college, high school, and/or USA Gymnastics and some experience in teaching and coaching gymnastics required
  • Member of USGF; ability to qualify for USGF Safety Certification within six months; current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Valid Virginia driver's license required
Work Environment

This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, and some heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and grasping; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, peripheral vision, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, noise, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
