Collection Manager

The Collection Manager will manage and direct the daily activities of a team of collection agents, coaching them to meet and exceed their goals while ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a competitive spirit, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive results through analytics to ensure the collection team is set up for success
- Motivate the collection team through coaching and helping team members meet their recovery goals
- Manage and coordinate the work flow of accounts to maximize team goals
- Ensure collection staff operates in accordance with policies and procedures
- Transition new hires from the training program to the team
- Communicate with upper management on team progress
- Analyze the team's work queue to identify proper staffing, progress, and areas of opportunity
- Mentor new employees and implement industry changes
- Recruit qualified collection staff and review monthly performance
- Establish yourself as a resource for the team and the organization
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of Collection Management experience in the medical accounts receivable market
- Working knowledge of medical insurance processes and related terminology
- Working knowledge of medical collections or major hospital billing and record systems
- Working knowledge of FACS or other nationally recognized collection software
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules concerning collections
- Effective skills in communication, negotiation, decision making, good management, and problem solving
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
