Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Care Specialist to join our Emergency Response Team at Ascension Providence in Waco, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time evening shift position, working 3:00pm-3:00am. The ideal candidate will have strong nursing skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct medical care to patients in accordance with established policies and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate seamless care delivery.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (GN) or current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in Texas.
    • Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire date.
    • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
  • Education:
    • Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
