Acute Illness and Injury Specialist

The APP Trauma Critical Care role at OSF Medical Group is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled healthcare provider to join a multidisciplinary team in providing evidenced-based care to critically ill adult patients.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribing pharmacologic agents and treatments as necessary.
- Perform necessary invasive procedures in accordance with established protocols and policies.
- Provide expert education, consultation, and patient advocacy to family members and significant others.
- Work effectively with physicians, residents, medical students, and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess a Master's degree in nursing or MSPAS/MPAS, as well as a valid national PA certification or acute care APRN certification. Federal DEA and IL Controlled Substance licenses are also required. A strong background in critical care is essential, with the ability to manage complex patient cases and provide emotional support during crisis situations.
