Job Title: Electrical Engineer

EOG Resources is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Midland, Texas. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and evaluating electrical systems, including power generation, utility inter-ties, distribution, motor plant logic, control systems, lighting, emergency power, supplies, grounding, alarm, and safety shutdown systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and specify electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems.
  • Evaluate and analyze electrical system designs, including power studies, short circuit calculations, coordination studies, and arc flash calculations.
  • Provide technical assistance to field support personnel, including electrical system studies, National Electrical Code interpretations, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare detailed short circuit, motor starting, voltage drop, load shedding, and relay coordination studies to ensure reliability and personal safety.
  • Ensure that company standards and safety practices comply with the latest industry practices or standards.
  • Develop and maintain electrical engineering specifications and facility electrical area classification drawings.
  • Direct work and review outside engineering contractors' designs, studies, and drawings to ensure conformance with company standards.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with new and existing facilities and their electrical design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, including design, specification, and evaluation of electrical systems.
  • Experience with power system design, power distribution equipment, and protective relaying.
  • Experience with design and troubleshooting of electric motors and related equipment, including motor starters, motor protection relay, and variable frequency drives.
  • Experience with electrical modeling programs (SKM, ETAP, etc.) for use in conducting power studies, short circuit calculations, coordination studies, arc flash calculations, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, government regulations, and standards, including NFPA, NEC, and API.
  • Self-motivated and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with a wide range of technical, analytical, and managerial personnel.
  • Knowledge of contracts, proposals, bids, and budgeting concepts.
