Job Overview

POSITION TITLE: Marina Maintenance Specialist

REPORTS TO: Waterfront Supervisor & Director of Waterfront

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Marina Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the upkeep and cleanliness of a full-service recreational rental dock, aquatic adventure course, and surrounding waterfront area.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Regularly removes algae from the aquatic adventure course and floating structures through scraping and cleaning.
  • Performs visual assessments of equipment including straps, shackles, hardware, and anchors.
  • Completes both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Possession of Open Water certification.
  • Ability to navigate in low visibility conditions.
  • Comfortable performing dives beneath structures.
  • Capable of remaining underwater for extended durations.
  • Adherence to safety protocols is essential.
  • Proficient swimming abilities are required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, with bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting involved.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A strong sense of pride in one's work is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of open water diving experience.
  • Previous experience in underwater hull cleaning is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
