Position Overview

The Traffic Management Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of traffic flow in construction zones. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work in various conditions.

Essential Qualifications:

Ø Minimum of three (3) years of experience in traffic management.

Ø Valid certification in traffic control is mandatory.

Ø Reliable transportation is essential for job duties.

Ø Availability for both day and night shifts is required.

Ø Familiarity with lane closures on urban roads and highways.

Ø Understanding of flagging operations, ramp closures, water barriers, and fencing.

Ø Experience in assembling and placing traffic signs.

Ø Previous work with municipal or state transportation departments is preferred.

Ø Knowledge of Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMA) is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations and protocols.
  • Maintain a steadfast focus on SAFETY in all tasks.
  • Assist in the setup, relocation, and removal of traffic control devices, including signs and barricades.
  • Follow the foreman's instructions regarding daily tasks and project expectations.
  • Perform flagging duties to effectively manage traffic in construction zones, ensuring the safety of workers and property.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Complete daily logs and reports accurately.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Review and interpret traffic control plans and coordinate accordingly.
  • Facilitate safety meetings to promote awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors on schedules and project plans.

Dependable transportation is a must.

Regular attendance is expected.

A valid driver's license is required as driving company vehicles is part of the role.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for this position include standing for extended periods, holding signs or flags, and the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs. Candidates must be capable of performing strenuous tasks in various weather conditions and possess the ability to see clearly at different distances.
