The role of the receptionist is pivotal in managing incoming communications, assessing the nature of each call, and directing it to the appropriate personnel or department. This position also involves addressing basic inquiries and taking messages as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage the switchboard telephone system efficiently.
  • Engage with callers in a friendly and effective manner, aiming to reduce hold times.
  • Record detailed messages, including the caller's name, company (if applicable), time, and message content.
  • Provide general information to callers with inquiries.
  • Support filing and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Prepare sales and service gas tickets for the Accounting Department.
  • Act as a backup for the Sales Department Cashier.
  • Assist the General Manager with various clerical tasks as necessary.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional, and efficient demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience operating a multi-line switchboard.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with the public.
This position offers a starting pay of $18 per hour, with an expected annual salary range of $30.37, based on individual experience and qualifications.
