Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician PRN to join our team at TriCities Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician PRN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in our behavioral health department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and document patient admission and shift behavioral and physical clinical data and observations.
  • Provide vital signs, BP's, and accuchecks, and assist patients with Activities of Daily Living.
  • Assist with treatments or procedures within documented level of competency.
  • Provide behavioral health care interventions utilizing the least restrictive interventions, and consistent with a culture of recovery and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Ensure patient safety and complete routine and special safety checks.
  • Participate in quality management activities by timely reporting of staff, family, visitor, or quality concerns.
  • Review all work-related communications and take the initiative to seek clarification when needed.
  • Facilitate and/or assist with patient community, education, or activity groups.
  • Document patient's progress and assist with clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or college course in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth & development (Preferred)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (Required - must be obtained within 60 days of hire or start in position)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
