Role Overview:

The Healthcare IT Specialist will play a crucial role in the implementation and management of software solutions utilized within clinical environments, ensuring that medical personnel are proficient in using these systems effectively. This position involves the analysis of clinical data to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement and the development of processes to facilitate improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software systems and databases to manage clinical information.
  • Foster effective communication with various departments to promote system integration and adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions and ongoing education for users on software and hardware functionalities.
  • Ensure that information systems align with IT standards and comply with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide training to healthcare professionals on data capture and system usage for accurate future analysis.
  • Coordinate the deployment of new software applications in collaboration with user departments.
  • Participate in on-call support duties alongside other team members in Information Services.
  • Investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and user manuals.
  • Manage incidents and requests within the clinical information system until resolution.
  • Identify necessary system updates, patches, and maintenance activities to ensure systems remain current and supported.

Work Schedule: Standard weekday hours.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Clinical, Business, Computer Sciences, or a related discipline, along with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Prior experience in healthcare and application support is preferred.
  • Experience with financial and clinical application support is advantageous.
  • In-depth familiarity with MediTech systems (clinical and financial) and NPR reporting is beneficial.
