Key Responsibilities:
The Breast Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting imaging procedures using advanced technology to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning while prioritizing patient care.
Ideal candidates will possess the ability to perform various imaging modalities, including X-ray, mammography, and DEXA, catering to a diverse patient population, including those in emergency situations, surgical cases, and routine outpatient visits.
This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals at all levels, ensuring swift and effective patient triage in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties:
- Select appropriate technical parameters in accordance with established protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Position patients accurately to optimize diagnostic outcomes.
- Support radiologists and medical staff as needed to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on all imaging studies prior to radiologist review to guarantee optimal data integrity and confirm all studies are accessible in the PACS system.
- Maintain equipment functionality by performing routine warm-up procedures and quality control checks.
- Calibrate imaging devices and execute necessary quality control measures daily to ensure operational reliability.
- Provide clear procedural instructions to patients to enhance understanding and comfort.
- Review the daily patient schedule to optimize workflow and reduce wait times.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program recognized by the AMA.
Licenses and Certifications:
- ARRT certification in Mammography is required upon hire.
- ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist is also required upon hire.
