We are seeking a highly qualified part-time faculty member to join our team at Coast Community College District. As a faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in social sciences, humanities, and occupational/technical education.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, per Education Code issued prior to July 1, 1990.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in social science.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in the interdisciplinary area.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate course work in at least one other constituent discipline.
- Or, possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to the above.
Candidates must also demonstrate a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
BenefitsThis is a part-time, temporary position with flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Part-time faculty positions offer a wide range of opportunities in transfer, general education, vocational and occupational programs.
Regular attendance is considered an essential job function, and the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.
