What does a typical day entail for the Youth Services Assistant?

Your day will predominantly be spent in the youth services department, engaging in various tasks such as preparing book displays, assisting children and caregivers in locating materials and information, and checking out items.

Additional responsibilities may include shelving returned items, preparing materials for upcoming events, organizing shelves, or supporting programs.

A significant aspect of this role involves brainstorming with the Youth Services Librarian to generate timely and relevant ideas for displays and programs that offer educational and recreational opportunities for the community.

Enjoying collaboration and conversation is essential.

As part of the staff, you may also be required to assist in other areas of the library as needed.

This position entails a commitment of 20 hours per week and reports directly to the Youth Services Librarian. The working hours are Monday to Friday, with a pay scale ranging from $18.50 to $19.50 per hour.
