Food Handler Job Description

At States HR CO LLC, we are seeking a skilled Food Handler to join our team. As a Food Handler, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food to our customers in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare various food items for customers following the instructions provided.
  • Food Packaging: Appropriately package all food items for delivery.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and disinfect all food preparation tools, instruments, and equipment before and after each use.
  • Food Safety: Ensure that all food surfaces, as well as refrigerators, ovens, freezers, and microwaves, are clean.
  • Incident Reporting: Promptly notify the supervisor of any incidents or suspicions of food contamination.
  • Spill Response: Clean up all spills and leaks as and when they occur to avoid accidents.
  • Food Storage: Follow proper food storage procedures to prevent spoilage.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor food supplies and inform the supervisor of low stock to ensure that the food preparation process isn't disrupted or delayed due to insufficient ingredients.
  • Labeling: Prepare food rotation labels and label all food items accordingly.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Food handler's license.
  • Experience: Proven experience working in the foodservice industry.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
  • Physical Demands: The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Communication: Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
