Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunities, aligning with the university's strategic plan and mission.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic leaders to foster research and creative project opportunities for all students, promoting persistence and post-graduate success.
- Manage the summer and academic year research and creative projects program, including promotion, application management, selection criteria development, and financial management.
- Organize and execute the annual Zyggeton student research symposium and summer presentations.
- Coordinate student research travel grants, including promotion, application management, and reimbursement processing.
- Partner with the Strommen Center to provide seamless graduate school advising, supporting students in their academic and professional pursuits.
- Support the development of student leaders in signature affiliated programs, such as STEM, TRIO, and McNair.
- Hire, train, and supervise student workers, manage program budgets, collect program data, and evaluate the effectiveness of URGO programming.
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to promote URGO programming and Augsburg's commitment to student success.
- Develop and maintain a strong funding base to support student research and graduate initiatives, through grant writing, corporate partnerships, and other means.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s), in support of the university's mission and goals.
This position is based in an office environment, with sedentary work for long periods of time. Regular computer and phone use are required, with occasional local, regional, and national travel. Long or irregular hours may be necessary for special events.
