Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Testing Specialist to join our team at Vertiv. As a key member of our High Voltage Maintenance (HVM) team, you will be responsible for performing electrical testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, including switchgear and motor control centers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including relay calibration and use of load recording instrumentation.
  • Test and inspect electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, switchgear, and motor control centers.
  • Install, inspect, and test busduct systems.
  • Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing.
  • Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
  • Cable testing, including Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot.
  • Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
Requirements
  • NETA Level 2 certification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment, periodic, and random drug screenings.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work.
  • Availability for out-of-town travel at a minimum of 25% or 12-15 weeks per year.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 100-pound test sets.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Graduate of Electrical Technical School.
  • Military equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • Medium lifting (30 Ibs. – 45 Ibs.).
  • Heavy lifting (over 50 Ibs.).
  • Frequent standing.
  • Frequent kneeling, crawling, and stooping.
  • Frequent bending and twisting.
  • Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders).
  • Frequent driving (car, van, truck).
Environmental Demands
  • Extreme cold (below 32*).
  • Extreme heat (above 100*).
  • Noise level (medium/high).
  • Working around moving machinery.
  • Protective equipment required.
  • Work outdoors.
Travel Time Required
  • 25%.
